FRIENDS: Dear Friends and Supporters: It has been another good year for Spotlight on Hope, Inc. and I ask for your support to keep our projects going. I’m certain you are asked to support many good initiatives. Our blending of creative arts and healthcare makes us effective in WNY. Here’s a quick update on Spotlight on Hope, Inc. projects. By the way, you can target your tax-deductible donation to any of these projects in the “Memo” section of your check: Spotlight on Health on MIX 96 – Now going in to our 12th year. Sadly, after 11 years of support, Mercy Hospital withdrew due to changes in their budget. We still did 48 weeks of health, medical and behavioral health education on our 30-minute, weekly, format. Our sponsorships cover our airtime costs. Sponsorships are $7,500/year, but your donation helps us spread the word! Masters of Inspiration: Great People Doing Great Things – A Spotlight on Hope, Inc. copyrighted project has been accepted for airing in March 2015 on WBBZ-TV as a One Hour Special. We have interviewed Seymour Knox IV, Rev. Darius Pridgen, Robby Takac, Jack Connors and Dr. Lani Burkman. Many others have reached out to come on the show as we continue taping, including BPO’s JoAnn Falletta. Extreme Meal Makeover – another made for TV/Internet effort to address nutrition, healthy eating and family interaction in the meal preparation process. We need funding to do a pilot to bring to cable TV – there is interest on cable! A pilot episode will cost about $18,000 and we hope to get food and kitchenware sponsors. Veteran and Inmate Re-entry Documentary (no title yet)– We have secured noted director and videographer, Jackie Albarella and consult from Professor, Photographer and Author, Bruce Jackson and criminal justice expert, Sharon Spaker. The documentary focuses on the societal opinions about veteran’s re-entry vs. inmate re-entry into the community. There are fascinating perceptions and realities. Our budget for this project is about $125,000. …and that’s just what we’ve been working on in 2014. As you can see, we have some very powerful projects. You can be a formal part of any one of these projects or make a general donation. Here are the details: Spotlight on Hope, Inc. is a NYS 501 c 3 corporation registered with the NYS Charities Bureau. We have Directors and Officers Insurance with Philadelphia Insurance Company through Lawley Insurance. Right now, all of our financial support goes directly to our projects and we have no salaried staff. We would like that to change and it will need to change. Donation levels are whatever you wish. As stated, larger donations can secure greater acknowledgement per project of interest. Please make checks payable to: Spotlight on Hope, Inc. 78 Old Farm Road, Suite B Orchard Park, NY 14127-2824 You will receive an acknowledgement and thank you letter for your records. Find us on Facebook and at spotlightonhope.org. Thank you very kindly. We wish you and yours a very Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, Happy Hanukkah and a Happy New Year! Cordially, Thomas P.
