FROM CONCORDIA ANIMAL CONTROL: Good Morning rescuers! Im sending - TopicsExpress

FROM CONCORDIA ANIMAL CONTROL: Good Morning rescuers! Im sending out my very last plea to try to save Codys life. Over the last 5 months I have sent Codys information with the other dogs that have needed help to rescues all over the Midwest and beyond trying to find him rescue safety. Unfortunately for poor Cody, he has had 0 interest, 0 offers for help and has watched 71 other dogs come and go since his arrival. He is becoming very depressed being in his kennel and he is so deserving of a loving family. My supervisors have given me extensions to keep him but now he is at the end of his luck and they have set a date to end Codys life next week if he is not offered any help. If Cody is euthanized next week it will be the only dog that has had to be euthanized for no terminal medical reason since I have been Concordias ACO. I am devastated this is happening to him and I felt like I had to push him out there one last time. Cody came to us as a stray back in the beginning of May and was caught in our dog size live trap. He was covered in large ticks, stickers, he was very thin and filthy, probably stray and unloved a long time . He sat in the outside part of his kennel and hung his head in the beginning. He didnt want any attention and was reluctant to give his own. After sitting in his kennel with him and working with him, Codys spirits lifted and he began showing his personality. He started wagging his tail, running into the indoor kennel when he saw me come in and started barking for attention. Cody became leash trained, learned a few basic commands, learned to love being brushed and snuggled. I have another officer who helps at the shelter on the weekends with her children and Cody is wonderful with them and they love him back. He doesnt know a stranger anymore, and is generally dog friendly, however any time he gets to be out of the kennel he has been in for nearly half a year, he gets very excited and playful and can be annoying to the other dogs. When he is inside the shelter with me doing chores, he doesnt potty, he likes to focus on what I do and be my shadow. This dog is FULLY VETTED and just needs a life saving place to go. Please share this far and wide so I dont have to watch this sweet soul be put to rest because he is unwanted. I can have some transport help available or I am willing to help get him where he needs to go myself. If someone can help Cody, please contact me immediately. As always my contact information is below. Thank you for passing along.
