****FROM DOH TO DEATH, NEEDS HELP NOW**** Hugo and his companion dog, Tiger- A1019398 have actually been at Brooklyn ACC longer than most dogs. Seems that both were found as strays in Brooklyn but because both appeared to have non-human bites, they both went right onto DOH Hold. Well that took over 3 weeks to sort out and now that hold has been released on both dogs. Hugo is now available for public adoption though any rescue or individual who adopts him or Tiger will need to sign a “rabies release form”. So who is Hugo and what’s he like? Well, for one thing he’s absolutely stunning. Take a look at his pictures and see for yourself. And you can get a glimpse of his personality from reading the notes on his behavioral eval. He was “nervous and trembled during handling, but had soft body language..”. He earned 1’s and 2’s on all the handling items and on all the resource guarding items. He got a bit confused when that strange dog came into the room but let’s remember that this all happened after 3 weeks of sitting in that cage 24 x7 hoping that somebody will take him out to stretch his legs and do his business, watching other dogs pass him in that cage, hearing strange dogs barking all day and all night. Now that all the DOH paperwork is done, ACC has decided Hugo’s got to go and they’ve put him on tomorrow’s euthanasia list. Tonight, this 2 year old needs an experienced dog person who understands why he’s trembling, who understands how confused and scared he is, who understands that he has no idea why none of his people ever came for him. If that’s you, start working on fostering or adopting Hugo. But it all has to happen tonight.
