FROM MY SON DAVID (CHAUNCEY) COOK Attention brothers and sisters. A dear couple in Christ is in need of your support. Brother Gerald Brown, and his wife Kim have been running Vegan Paradice, (a vegan restaurant in Fairfield California) for a little over two years. Many people who are neither vegan nor of our faith have been delighted and blessed by the healthy but delicious food served there, so much that so many people have changed their habits of eating, and have requested cooking classes, as well as bible studies. The kind and Christ-like example of this couple has been a great witness drawing the attention of their customers to Jesus. However they are currently faced with a great challenge. The time of year has come where the fee for the two annual renewal of the two licenses which are needed in order for them to continue are due. Because of their lack of staff, and large overhead they have been unable to do all that they are capable of doing to generate more income for the restaurant, let alone put money aside for times like these. The total cost for the two licenses combined is $2,000.00. In addition to this expense they are hoping to raise money to purchase the large amount of vegan ice cream to sell at the Farmers Market in Marin once a week. This event holds thousands of shoppers and is said to be the third largest Farmers Market in all of California. At this event they will be able to earn enough money to stay open, hire help, and put away money for times like these. The cost for the amount of merchandise needed to serve the number of people at this event is $5,000.00. I petition and plead on behalf of these dear children of God, and on behalf of the Lords work, that all who can give, do so by logging on to their website veganparadice and clicking on the icon that says support us. Let the means spent on cable, junk food, and frivolous outings be put toward a cause such as this, and may the Lord richly bless all who willfully give with a cheerful heart.
