And she said, thine handmaid hath not anything in the house, save a pot of oil. 2kings 4:2 Too many believers underestimate themselves. They have never taken out time to discover what GOD has deposited in their lives. One contradiction of Christianity is that GOD delights in bringing something from nothing, in using the weak elements of the world, to confound the strong, & the foolish things, to confound the wisdom of the wise. God can raise you from nothing to something. He is unlimited God. He can do all things. Just as he did for the widow in Kings 4. Here was a woman who had contradictions in her life. She was poor, wretched & indebt, yet unknown to her. Too many believers underestimate themselves. They have never taken out time to discover what God has deposited in their lives. They look at their education background, & their family background, their lack of finances & their lack of connections, & like the widow, they say I have nothing, I have no connections, I have no money, I have no education qualifications, I have no godfather, I have nothing. In our text we are told of a woman whose sons were about to be sold in to slavery because of the debt she owed. All this time what could save her from potential shame & embarrassment was in her house, & she never knew it. She had key to her miracle very close to her, but eyes had been blinded to it. Beloved now is the time to take stock of your life. God is asking you the same question, what do you have in your house? When God calls your name, no grave can withhold your blessings
