FROM: SUNDAY’S OPEN Q & A Is it true that the unsaved hate the ground that the saved walk on? ANSWER That doesnt sound like it comes from the Bible. We do find that there is enmity between Gods kingdom and the kingdom of Satan. The Bible tells us that Christ is hated and that we ought not to be surprised if we also are hated: 1 John 3:13 Marvel not, my brethren, if the world hate you. We know that the Word of God is a constant source of trouble to the unsaved. Spiritually, this is in view with this statement in the book of Genesis: Genesis 46:32 And the men are shepherds, for their trade hath been to feed cattle; and they have brought their flocks, and their herds, and all that they have. 33 And it shall come to pass, when Pharaoh shall call you, and shall say, What is your occupation? 34 That ye shall say, Thy servants trade hath been about cattle from our youth even until now, both we, and also our fathers: that ye may dwell in the land of Goshen; for every shepherd is an abomination unto the Egyptians. The family of Jacob typify true believers, and the Egyptians typify the world. Every shepherd (shepherds feed sheep) is an abomination to the Egyptians. This would refer to Christ in the first instance since He is the Good Shepherd; and then have application to all Gods people as under shepherds. Our very occupation of sharing the Word of God is abomination to the unsaved people of the world. Sadly, those that do hate Christ love something in His place. Proverbs 8:35 For whoso findeth me findeth life, and shall obtain favour of the LORD. 36 But he that sinneth against me wrongeth his own soul: all they that hate me love death. In Proverbs 8 Wisdom is Personified because it is speaking of Jesus. All that hate Him love death in the sense that man loves his sins over the Word of God. And the Bible tells us that the wages of sin is death. Ultimately, any love of sin is a love of death itself.
