FROM THE FEBRUARY EDITION OF THE FRIENDS GAZETTE: Top TV and film actor Jay Simpson is set to step into Martin Shaw’s shoes as shooting for the teaser for Nigel Lesmoir-Gordon’s film Nothing and Everywhere gets underway. Martin Shaw, starring in 12 Angry Men in the West End and promoting his BBC George Gently role, is not available for the short but is still committed to considering a part in the movie itself. Simpson whose showreel shows him playing alongside the likes of Cameron Diaz (There’s Something About Mary), David Tennant (Doctor Who) and Philip Glenister (Life on Mars) will play the part of Russian gangster Tigran Gevorkian. Filming, set to start next month, will take place in the 606 Club in Chelsea; a flat in Lant Street, Borough and a car park rooftop in Peckham Rye, South London.
