This is my language and conversation, this doesnt just stir me greatly, it SCREAMS OUT LOUD WHAT MATTERS TO ME. I, you, we can make a difference. We can change lives by who were being, by what matters to us. Ironically countries borders are manmade yet this is exactly why theyre meaningless...as human constructs they dont cause seperation between a woman or child in some far off place and myself. Seperation is the excrusiating illusion...for them. And as Marianne Willuamson reminds us Children in Africa arent dying because theyre not conscious, its because were not conscious. Having been born and brought up in Africa and having travelled and lived around the world Ive been priveleged to experience first hand different ways of living and lifestyles. And what I know to be true is that a poor woman in remote India doesnt suffer any less at the hands of hard labour, a Nigerian mother whose daughter disappears to child hostage, a girl in Pakistan abducted to human trafficking, a Kenyan girl whose life is condemned to being a waterbearer and no education, a Haitian girlchild is raped countless times a day by her adoptive/rescue caretakers, they suffer no less than you, I, our mothers, daughters and loved ones. Theyre destined to suffer because theyre born female, poor, black/coloured and are kept uneducated. And the biggest crime is that we can change much of this. And often we do nothing. Because we fear we cant make enough of a difference. But a worthwhile difference doesnt need to be massive to be worthwhile. I invite you to be a part of the solution and not through indifference be a part of the problem. The world is truly very small...we are but only a global village. I invite you to get really interested and make a difference whenever you can; sign a petition, share a post, donate some clothes, support a chariry, volunteer some effort and time...the possibilities are countless. Together we are stronger and if youre connected to me in some way I know you have a heart and a genuine conscience.
