FROM THE NEWSROOM: A case of rabies has been documented in Plainfield, according to that towns police department. Plainfield Police say that the towns animal control officer responded to a call for a dead skunk at a Collelo Road property in Moosup Tuesday. After being sent to the state laboratory in Rocky Hill, the animal carcass tested positive for rabies, police said in a news release. Police advise all residents to avoid contact with wildlife and to make sure pets are up to date on their rabies vaccines. Officials warn residents against feeding animals outdoors and to stay away from stray animals in general.
