FROM THE NEWSROOM: A man accused of involvement with a string of robberies throughout the states of Connecticut, Massachusetts and Rhode Island – including a bank robbery in the town of Putnam several years ago – has been formally charged on an active arrest warrant, according to a news release. On June 7, 2006 State Police Detectives from the Eastern District Major Crime Squad assigned to Troop D were responded to investigate a bank robbery at the Westbank located at 6 Providence Road in the Town of Putnam. Witnesses stated that a white female had entered the bank walking over to the teller station passing a note saying, “ This is a robbery, 100’s, 50’s, 20’s, No dye packs! Or else!” The female described to be white 5’7” to 5’8”, mid 30s, left on foot in an easterly direction on Route 44, also known as Providence Road. State Police Detectives received information from Massachusetts, Rhode Island and FBI authorities, identifying multiple robberies with the same female suspect. After a lengthy investigation Detectives developed two suspects Brooke Beaulieu and Mark McIntyre. It was determined that McIntyre would drive to bank locations and Beaulieu would go in and commit the robberies. McIntyre and Beaulieu were arrested during a robbery in Troy, Illinois on June 27, 2006. Since that date they have been in Federal custody for the multi-state bank robbery spree. Beaulieu has already been arrested by State Police in this case. Today at approximately 12:45 p.m., accused 54-year-old McIntyre was taken into custody by State Police Detectives at the Danbury Federal Correctional Institute where he is a federal prisoner. He was charged with Robbery 3rd degree and Larceny 3rd Degree, and was held in custody to appear in Danielson Superior Court on Friday at 9:30 a.m.
