FROM THE NEWSROOM: A moped collided with an SUV in Canterbury Wednesday afternoon, resulting in one injury. State police say that 19-year-old Alexandria, Virginia resident Alexis Lynn Johnson was operating an HT-50 QT-26 model moped on Tarbox Road in Canterbury, just about a tenth of a mile from the Plainfield town line, when she lost control of the moped and struck an oncoming Ford Explorer driven by 61-year-old Lisbon resident Denis Cloutier. Following the accident reported around 3:40 yesterday afternoon, Johnson was transported to Plainfield Backus emergency room by Canterbury Ambulance with non-life threatening injuries.
