FROM THE NEWSROOM: A new Property Services Manager has been hired by the Brooklyn Board of Education, following the retirement of an employee previously tasked with that responsibility, according to Board Chairman Mae Lyons. The Property Services Manager – responsible for supervising custodians as well as property and building maintenance – will be paid $34.72 per hour, but theres no estimate as to what an exact salary might be as its relevant to the number of hours worked, according to Superintendent Dr. Louise Berry. However, Dr. Berry did say that because the position has gone from part-time to full-time, the effective annually salary for the new hire is anticipated to be an increase. Dr. Berry says the new hire, Anthony Tusia, was chosen due to his impressive resume as a licensed electrician and many years of experience in other relevant fields.
