FROM THE NEWSROOM: According to a press release from the Plainfield Police Department, a home invasion that occurred at 14 Juniper Lane in Moosup Village was not, in fact, an actual home invasion. The incident took place at about 8:15 p.m. on September 30th; Police arrived within minutes to find that the house appeared to be ransacked. They also discovered that the female caller and a two-year-old that was in her care were present and unharmed. Upon investigation, the Plainfield Police Department was able to determine that the event had been falsely reported by the complainant, who is now accused of staging the entire incident. She went as far as planting items of evidence and smashing a bedroom window. The case remains under investigation and an arrest is expected.
