FROM THE NEWSROOM: At approximately 9:43 AM Sunday morning (9/21/14), members of the Plainfield Police Department, Plainfield Fire Department, and Emergency Medical Personnel Services responded to the area of 376 Starkweather Road, Plainfield CT for a report of a car versus telephone pole motor vehicle accident. Upon arrival Officers observed a 1997 Blue Chrysler Town and Country Van had collided with an AT&T telephone pole. The operator who was identified as Daniel Carpenter, 48, of Newport Road, Oneco, CT was outside the vehicle claiming injury to his head. Carpenter was subsequently transported to Plainfield Backus Hospital with injuries. Upon Carpenter’s release from the hospital he was issued a Misdemeanor Summons for Operating a Motor Vehicle Under Suspension (C.G.S. 14-215), Operating a Motor Vehicle Without Minimum Insurance Requirements (C.G.S. 14-213b), Operating a Unregistered Motor Vehicle (C.G.S. 14-12a*), Traveling too Fast for Conditions (C.G.S. 14-218a*), Misuse of Registration Plate (C.G.S. 14-147). Carpenter has a scheduled court date of 10/06/2014 at Danielson Superior Court in Danielson, CT.
