FROM THE NEWSROOM: Attorney Andrea Truppa of Killingly says she is excited and proud to have received the Democratic nomination for Judge of Probate for the 27th District Thursday night, which serves the towns of Plainfield, Killingly, Canterbury, and Sterling. Three of the four towns’ delegates voted unanimously to support Truppa, and she was nominated Judge of Probate by a 10-6 delegate vote. The delegates from Canterbury, Killingly and Sterling voted unanimously to nominate Truppa. Truppa is an active volunteer in many civic organizations within the 27th District including the Killingly Democratic Town Committee, the Killingly Business Association and Conservation Commission, the Last Green Valley, and Sterling’s Ekonk Grange. “When it comes to jobs in the legal profession, probate work may not be the most glamorous, but in my opinion, it is the most important,” Truppa said in her acceptance speech. Truppa has been a litigation attorney for 17 years, the last 10 of which she has been practicing in CT and in the probate courts. Over the last five years, about a third of her practice has been devoted to probate law. Truppa has represented hundreds of individuals in probate matters including will contests, estates, guardianships, psych hearings, and conservatorships. Tune in for details.
