FROM THE NEWSROOM: In Pomfret tonight, taxpayers will be asked to approve a $12.3 million spending plan for the 2014-15 Fiscal Year at the Annual Town Meeting. The meeting will be held at 7 p.m. in the Pomfret Community School cafeteria. Residents will be asked to adopt a total appropriation of $2.5 million for the general government budget and $9.8 million for the school district. Taxpayers will also vote on the $80,000 town purchase of the 24-acre “Platt property” on Mashamoquet Rd. through the Land Acquisition Fund. EDITORS NOTE: The general government budget figure has been corrected.
