FROM THE NEWSROOM: Killingly officials are staring down plans for what could be a $25 million facilities project, to upgrade the towns sewer plant. Town Engineer Sean Hendricks says that, while a potential public-private partnership with Connecticut Water fell through, grant funding and low interest loans are available for the project. “The scope of the project was fairly large, because its not just the treatment plant itself in Danielson,” Hendricks said, in an appearance on the WINY Talk Show this morning. “Theres the old, small borough treatment facility that is sort of behind the major plant, as well as the Rogers pump station. It looks like the price tag for a complete facilities upgrade to include all three locations is going to be aroudn $25 million.” The potential project will be the subject of a presentation before the town council on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. Tune in for the full report.
