FROM THE NEWSROOM: NEW MILFORD, Conn. (AP) — A man has been killed in New Milford after power lines fell onto his car during a storm that brought heavy rain and winds to Connecticut. Police tell WTNH-TV the mans car caught fire at about 7 p.m. Tuesday after electrical wires came down onto the vehicle on Van Car Road. Police say he was electrocuted as he attempted to escape the burning car. His name has not been released. The storm caused damage across western Connecticut and several roads remained closed Wednesday morning because of fallen trees and power lines. More than 5,000 Connecticut Light and Power customers remained without power Wednesday, including almost 3,000 in New Milford.
