FROM THE NEWSROOM: One major point of discussion in Woodstock’s latest Board of Education meeting was the recent reduction in number of teaching assistants available for Kindergarten and Elementary-level classes. Eight teaching assistant positions were discontinued at the elementary school as part of the latest education budget cuts that occurred in the spring. Since the school year has begun, Kindergarten and 1st grade teachers have been feeling the pinch, now left with only one assistant who divides time between several homerooms.
