FROM THE NEWSROOM: State police say that a West Warwick, Rhode Island, man was arrested last Thursday related to multiple larcenies from a local automotive shop. According to an arrest report, troopers arrested Leroy Dodge by warrant Thursday, after an investigation by the Killingly Resident State Troopers Office and the Eastern District Major Crime Squad. The 31-year-old turned himself in at Troop D in Danielson, where he was was charged with first degree larceny and processed and released on a $15,000 non-surety bond, pending an appearance in Danielson Superior Court on June 6. In the report, police said an investigation was opened in late November of 2013 into three larcenies from Mike Smiths Transmission/East Coast Converters on Main Street in Danielson. Authorities say that the suspect and his pickup truck were captured on video surveillance entering storage areas on the property; video showed Dodge stealing items including torque converters with an estimated value of $50,000, police said. Authorities say that Dodge allegedly confessed to his involvement in the thefts when questioned by police.
