FROM THE NEWSROOM: This weekend, a ceremonial groundbreaking will be held at the building site for the new Dayville firefighter training facility on Litchfield Ave., by the Rogers Corporation. The Dennis R. Lemery Memorial Training Facility is named after a Lieutenant firefighter who died in the line of duty back in 1994, while a member of the Dayville Fire Company; Fire District President Kevin Ide confirmed the Lemery family will be there for the ceremony. The container building is already being prefabricated; Ide said once some matters involving a building permit and a zoning variance for excessive height are squared away, the project can physically start breaking ground. The groundbreaking will be held on Saturday at 11 a.m. Tune in for the full report.
