L to R: View of the Neshoba County Fair, artist’s rendering of the new Choctaw Health Center opening in March, and a game of stickball at the annual Choctaw Indian Fair. General Dentist and Pediatric Dentist Needed for New Dental Facility! Tucked away in the piney woods of east central Mississippi is a new hidden gem in the Indian Health Service, the brand-new Choctaw Health Center! Providing outpatient health care to over 10,000 members of the Mississippi Band of Choctaw Indians, the health center has three smaller satellite clinics all located within a 50-mile radius of the main facility located just outside historic Philadelphia, Mississippi. The dental program currently consists of 12 operatories and 17 staff including five dentists. However, with the opening of the new state-of-the-art dental facility in March 2015, the dental program will be quickly expanding with additional space and staff to continue to meet the oral health needs of the population served. We are looking for two permanent dentists, a general dentist and a pediatric dentist, to begin in March 2015. Pay and benefits are through the Mississippi Band of Choctaw Indians. This is a great opportunity for a dentist to give back to the community and to provide dental care to a vastly underserved population. This location is a great place to settle down to a quiet, rural lifestyle. Located primarily in an agricultural region, Philadelphia is conveniently located about an hour northeast of Jackson, MS (population 170,000) , about three hours south of Memphis, TN and just four hours northeast of New Orleans, LA. Whether it is the annual Neshoba County Fair, where many political figures kicked off their political careers, whether it is the annual Choctaw Indian Fair that is attended by hundreds of thousands of people from across the country, or whether it is the quiet afternoon fishing barefoot on the banks of the Pearl River, this area definitely has something that will attract anyone. If you are ready to move to this relaxed location and work with congenial colleagues dedicated to improving the oral health of those they serve, please contact Dr. Brian Berg, Chief Dentist at Choctaw, at (601) 389-6201 or [email protected].
