FROM THE NEWSROOM: Thompson residents are encouraged to attend a public hearing tonight, where Starr Road will be the subject of discussion. Residents had earlier petitioned for the “preservation of Starr Road” citing concerns about possible future development in the area, on the heels of a failed land donation proposal. More than 40 residents reportedly signed the petition, requesting that an unimproved portion of Starr Road be preserved. The matter will be discussed in depth at 7 p.m. at the auditorium at the Thompson school complex, behind Tourtellotte Memorial High School.
