FROM THE PRESIDENT .COOLUM BOARDRIDERS Coolum Boardriders will hold their next round on Sunday the 18th of August. Meet at the clubhouse at 6.30am for a 7am start. Our Club competed last weekend in the Coast of Origin State Challenge held at Burleigh Heads on the Gold Coast. All our team members surfed and represented the club well. Unfortunately this time the Gold Coast team emerged victorious after the Sunshine Coast won the last two years. The contest ran neck and neck all day but with the two Gold Coast teams winning the double point tag event they emerged victorious. Snapper Rocks took the top club from Noosa in second, Coolum while in third up till lunch eventually finished in seventh out of the fourteen teams. Grant Jenkins and James Harrison were standout surfers for the club. A big thanks to all our team, Craig Masters, Grant Jenkins, Chris Renyolds, Caleb Hardy, Zane Assink, Jo Brebner, Amber Dodds, Jaleesa Vincent, Daniel Maudsley, Jimi Wallace, Patrick Lynch, James Harrison, Seb Raubenheimer and Kirra Green. The Gas Fins Coolum Junior Classic is just over a week away and with full divisions and some amazing prizes and giveaways it is shaping up as an awesome weekend. If you can help with the Breaky BBQ on Sat or Sunday or just selling softies please let us know... this event is a fundraiser for our club so your help is appreciated. We will need help on both days setting up and pulling the event down. It would also be awesome to see loads of club members at the presentations. If you are a competitor it is always good sportsmanship to show up at the presentations even if you had a shocker!! With our Government grant funding thanks to the NPRSR lets GET TRAINING!!!! The second round of free training commenced last weekend with the all Girls still some room for members on Sat 3rd August for any club members under 16. Sat 17th Open and Advanced . Sat 24th and Sat 31st August all mini and microgroms are invited to the Parent assist training sessions. Learn how to best help your kids!!!!.... we will also be running some essential water safety information for the kids ALL MINI and MICRO GROMS are encouraged to participate.
