FROM THE SPORTS DEPARTMENT: From the desk and computer of Woodstock Academy Athletic Director Aaron Patterson. I am pleased to announce the hiring of David Paquette as the wrestling coach at Woodstock Academy. Paquette comes to us with a great deal of wrestling experience as both an athlete and as a coach. As an athlete Paquette was a two time State Open Champion and two time All-New England including a runner-up finish at New England Championships his senior year. After high school, Paquette went on to wrestle at Johnson and Whales University and Rhode Island College where he was a Captain, All-New England, and an Academic All-American. He graduated with honors from Rhode Island College with a bachelor’s degree Computer Information Systems. After college Paquette became an assistant wrestling coach at Rhode Island College where he helped the Anchormen to a conference championship and to a top three conference finish each year he was the assistant coach. Paquette helped coach one National Champion and four New England Champions while at Rhode Island College. The one National Champion Paquette coached was the third ever at that time to win the National Championship from the New England region. Paquette resides in Canterbury with his wife Rebecca and his three children Samantha, Abigail, and Zachary. Coach Paquette works at the University of Connecticut in the School of Business IT Department. We are pleased to have David Paquette as the newest member of Centaur Nation and we welcome him, his wife, and his children to the Woodstock Academy Family!
