FUEL FOR YOUR FIRE In your journey to grow your business, there will come extraordinary people, placed specially in your path, to cause some displeasure and rile you up. They might come in any shape or size. Some of them might be more seasoned or experienced entrepreneurs, they might have eaten more salt or ajinamoto than you. Some of them might be noobs in the world of business and perhaps dont even have the courage to begin their own business. But it seems everyone is entitled to dip their 2 cents into your well and rankle you up. Maybe they will say something hurtful to you, like, oh no wonder your business is only operating from a small room in your house. Maybe they will say oh you are silly not to do such-and-such. I had someone say to my face when I was just starting out: Everyone else is swimming freestyle but I see you; youre swimming backstroke, taking your own sweet time. Ouch. That sure did hurt. It hurt even more to just grin back in return without resorting to a comeback reply that might have soured our friendship. Slow and steady is the way I like it. The beginning entrepreneur has a lot to learn and unlearn. It is a personal journey to develop our self. In order for the business to grow, we must grow. But be thankful. Thankful for those who douse fuel onto our fire. Maybe we were feeling a bit weary from our efforts building our business. And then these kind samaritans came along and knowingly or unknowingly gave us a boost to fight even harder. They gave us added fire in our belly to become better. Thank you.
