FUN FACT: Light travels through a vacuum at 186,000 miles per second but travels through a diamond at 77,000 miles per second. When light enters a diamond and is slowed it also refracts or breaks apart. When it exits the stone we see the sparkle of white light broken apart like a prism into a rainbow of color. Diamonds are able to dispense light into a rainbow better than any other Natural gemstone.
