FUNKY FOOTWEAR, FABULOUS FRITATTA & A FOOTY FETISH... All at FAWKNER!!! Good morning from Fawkner Park!! A post Christmas inspiration to enjoy some outdoor fun, & possibly work off Christmas pudding (for 3 people?!), & make a start to 2015 BEFORE a its even arrived!!! RUN ME RAGGED My BF Chris & I both bought Salomon trail shoes yesterday, which are great door to trail runners. I love the XR Mission, which are a medium support grip show, whilst Chriss are the Speed Cross, with a little more traction. Awesome for all terrain, especially if you dont want to limit where you go & what you do at any given moment! Really well made & lightweight considering their traction sole. GODDESS OF FRITATTAS The humble fritatta has taken a serious launch into my fridge of late, being so easy, healthy & the savior of leftover veggies! You will instantly look like a domestic kitchen goddess after whipping up one of these little gems! Go Fetch: Eggs: 8-10/a chicken-full. Egg whites: I used about half a small carton of ready made whites. Almond milk: half a cup or so. Salmon - leftovers from Xmas broken up into small pieces. Silverbeet (4-5 leaves chopped) Broccholini (small bunch chopped) Grated carrot Chopped zucchini Parsley (good for digestion... I wondered why it was a ridiculous looking garnish!) Basil leaves (this makes a great smell & flavour) Chilli to taste Himalayan sea salt to taste Work your magic: Lightly wok toss the veg & salmon till cooked. Whisk all the eggs, whites, almond milk, chilli & salt in a bowl. Put veg/salmon mix evenly in an ovenproof tart dish. Pour egg mix through veg (even it out by poking it with a utensil of choice). Oven, around 180, for 25-30 mins or until golden (not black, Ive tried). FAVORITE FITNESS FANCY This mornings fun activity was two laps of the park (6ks), in my new Salomons, with Ringo carrying a flat football he randomly found, the entire time! What we did: - Steady cardio up & down the slopes of the park to build endurance. - Core exercises on park equipment (ab slides on the swings, upside down hanging crunches, planks on unstable wobbly bars...) - agility & balance fun stuff (walking/jumping across boulders, climbing amongst ropes, monkey bar climbing...) Exercise doesnt need to always be regimented! Playing like a kid creates agility so you dont fall over, kicking Ringos flat footy on both feet, climbing & holding your bodyweight, balancing, bending... All of these are life skills & will help overall body fitness. Plus... Who doesnt love park equipment?! Ok kids, over & out from Team Ross!!
