FYI: Police/LEO riot / NG riot formations will move in a direct, tight linear fashion, theyll open up in gaps so that their snatch squads can take people into behind the marching line as it closes up, thats the pattern, its called a marching phalanx and sweep. Their strategy is to swallow protesters they target, as they move the lines (usually 1 - 3 deep) at worst case, they beat the people with batons and anything else plus tase/pepper spray and even can shoot those they swallow up behind their sweep line(s). Is there anyway that someone can make pretty large shields, so that 3 to 4 people can get behind them? It helps to make it harder for the cop riot lines. Also, just dont get directly in the way of the sweep lines, get to the sides, circular motions around the lines... Wood, plastic even from thick cardboard boxes, keep in mind though that cardboard will soak up tear gas fumes. Keep to the sides, even keeping a distance from the line(s) if youre in front of it (them).
