Fable #16, love and dogs- Life is as brutal as love said the dog. Indeed it is replied the other dog. Supplements are only good for so long you know what I mean? The others nodded in semi-quiet agreements. Tongues wagging this way and that and scratching of ears and what not going on and on. Ah blech to it all and more said the first dog. He gets up and spins around in circles for a bit before lying uncomfortably down once again. The ground is hard like life and love. Peace is hard to grasp when forgiveness is all but impossible and your heart is breaking. One little dog howls at the moon and of course the others are envious. The air is dark and the wind is dead. The soft sounds of licking tongues and the buzzing of gnats and flies. There are garbage cans and dirt with a pretense of grass not really growing. A broken heart is part of life the first dog says but he doesn’t know or understand why it has to be so. Lonliness is abject and happiness is fleeting . A bone is good. A cold night not so. A mate is both. The moon is truth and the sun can be both brutal and beautiful . I am going to run around now said the dog! Of course, the others followed, what else are they going to do? It continues like the day is blue and then black again….g
