Fabrication Supervisor for Dubai Location (Oil & Gas) A. Purpose and Scope To ensure that all shop floor activities for Fabrication Production are performed efficiently and to a high standard of quality and that all works are completed in a timely fashion. B. Responsibilities and Duties Ensure that sufficient labours, tools and equipment are available to carry out the work within the budgeted man hours and by the contract completion date. Immediately report on any foreseen man-hour budget discrepancies or revisions. Effectively manage Fabrication Chargehands and labours to ensure good efficiency and to monitor and report on their performance and conduct. Requisition of Fabrication materials in order to meet with the project construction schedule and/or completion date. Coordinate his discipline activities with all other discipline Supervisors and liaise with Project Managers, Discipline Engineer and QC as necessary. Manage all Fabrication activities of products to ensure that they are performed to the required quality standards. Ensure that all works are performed safely and in accordance with HSE regulations. Ensure that the works are carried out in accordance with the drawings and specifications provided and to give feedback on drawings for any corrections required. Identify any achievable improvements in Fabrication facilities, equipment, methods and/or designs. Identify the training required for their personnel or themselves. Ensure that all facilities, Welding equipment are kept clean and well maintained. Responsible for the preparation of any Admin, Project Management or QC documentation associated with his activities. General Recommend improvements to departmental policy and implement procedures and controls covering all areas of Operations function, so that all relevant procedural/legislative requirements are fulfilled while delivering quality, cost effective service to customers. Ensure compliance to all relevant QHSE procedures and controls across Operations function to guarantee employee safety, health, legislative compliance, delivery of high quality products/service and a responsible environmental attitude. Any other duties and responsibilities as assigned from time to time. C. Organisational Relationships Reports to Fabrication Manager Direct reports: Assistant Supervisor (Fabrication) Location: This role is primarily based in the Al Quoz mainyard in Dubai although frequent travel to the other facilities/yard in Dubai and Abu Dhabi may be required based upon operational requirements. Qualification, Knowledge, Experience a) Academic Qualification and Professional Qualification Diploma in Engineering b) Experience (minimum preferred) Minimum 10 years supervisory experience in Oil and Gas related industry. 2. Technical Requirements Thorough knowledge of all relevant trade practices, tools, equipment and materials Ability to read and understand construction drawings, specifications, vendor data, QA documents and the like. Ability to organize and control materials for the job in hand. 3. Key Competencies Ability to understand and follow instructions in their own language or in English. Ability to organize and control a small workforce.
