Facebook Confessions When I was a high schooler participating in track and field under Coach Michael A. Drick and we had track meets out of town, I would go ask my Pa (Lynn Stowe) for cash for the trip; at which point he would generously hand over $5 for my food for the weekend. Now, the reality was, I always had a summer job, and knew there was an expectation for me to make that money last the winter; so really, this was an opportunity for him to reinforce that principle, and Im glad he did. Anyhow, back to the 5er Pa gave me. I would buy a bag of bagels, a jar of peanut butter, and a jug of water. To this day bagels and peanut butter is one of my favorite quick foods, and I smile and remember a $5 lesson, and some of my favorite memories from high school.
