Facebook Friends in Loudoun County, this is a key issue, please contact your school board members and ask for support. Eliminating Freshman sports goes way beyond athletics. Being a part of a team can help build confidence, help the transition from Middle to high school, help provide discipline and respect, sportsmanship helps build Character!! For some, Freshman athletics will be all they are able to do and that is OK, taking that away will leave them no opportunities. I really feel strongly that eliminating this would be a HUGE mistake. Also eliminating Assistant AD spots will be some much work and stress on ADs, that is a tough and very time consuming job, they need help. Budgets are tight I know, but this small amount will not make a difference and they should keep them, please reach out and help here, without voices coming we will lose this one!!
