Facebook now lists Your adverts at the top of my page. Obviously the shareholders consider that to be the main source of their future revenue. Although mostly use a personal facebook page I also have facebook pages pertinent to my work. I have them because I hope they will bring me more clients/students/money. I thought I would try out the marketing aspect of facebook as I wasnt having much luck in the chat up department. I also tried it because it was obvious that facebook was systematically reducing the distribution of notices of my events so only a small number of people who liked a page actually received notification. I thought I should just suck that up and pay them for the service. I entered into a deal with facebook which promised to promote my event to 17,000 people living within 50km of Palma who were interest in massage, yoga, healing and therapy for a mere €11. That sounds like a ridiculously good deal. Facebook reported back that 17,858 people saw my post. 4 people said they would attend. 1 of them did. The rest of the (fantastic) class came through direct contact with me or Zunray. That one person was worth a lot more than €11 but I am still left unsure of whether to continue along this route. Anybody think those numbers are for real? Anybody else had experience engaging with this aspect of facebook? Anybody else feel that the new layout makes them less inclined to scroll down and see what passed them by?
