Facebook tip: Do you ever wonder why a post of a leader in another network marketing company would show up in your personal news feed? Look again - its probably a sponsored ad. People with business pages can purchase sponsored advertising through Facebook to target a very specific audience (based on age, gender, geographic location and interest - such as Arbonne!). These ads arent just limited to tiles on the right side, they appear in the newsfeed too. You will see the word sponsored right under their page name. You can adjust your ad preferences by clicking the X or ^ near the top-right corner of any ad on Facebook. You can select to hide all ads from particular advertisers or specify you dont want to see those types of ads. Youll never eliminate ads in your newsfeed (Facebook has to make money somehow), but you can at least influence what is cultivated for you to read.
