An excellent opportunity has arisen to work for The Isle of Wight Council as a Facilities and Stores Apprentice The Isle of Wight Council is one of the largest employers on the Island. They provide a wide range of services to the public. Working in County Hall in Newport, the successful candidate will be expected to: Support facilities in the day to day running and operation of the storage and key office locations Learn where the different departments are situated Be able to problem solve Follow and implement instructions Keep areas clean and tidy and hazard free Provide good Customer Service to both internall and external customers Deal with telephone enquiries and any requests in a timely manner Use computer systems to update records Utilise IT programmes with confidence Assist with office moves/building clearances/removals Assist with the disposal of waste materials as directed by the Site Specialist Assist with the setting up of meeting rooms as required Skills Required:- IT abilities The ability to sort things through methodically but also in a timely manner Good and effective communication Seeing providing good Customer Service as a priority The ability to get to know and remember departments and intiative and ability to investigate any queries Calm under pressure Problem solving abilities Able to work to deadlines and set timescales This is a physical role so a good level of fitness will be needed Able to work under supervision Capable of following and implementing instructions Apprenticeship Framework Warehousing and Storage (Skills for Logistics) Qualifications Required The Isle of Wight Council would like the successful candidate to ideally have 4 GCSEs at C and above (or equivalents) these must include English and Maths Personal Qualities Friendly and polite Positive approach Willingness to learn and be taught Reliable Responsible Flexible Honest Trustworthy Good team player Working Week 37 p/w times between 7:30am and 7:30pm Mon - Fri Weekly Wage £101.01 To apply for this position: please attach your CV and cover letter telling us why you are suitable.
