Fact or Fiction??? Can a composer be arrested for composing a work??? Well this is one story that is being told over the years about Ralph Vaughan Williams, you see it was during WWI that the composer was supposed to be observing English transport ship going across the English Channel to France, when he was composing his work The Lark Ascending. The story goes that a boy notified officials about a stranger putting down a code about the ships off shore that he notified officials who then arrested Ralph Vaughan Williams on the possibility of being a spy. This hour of Sleepers Awake begins with this work that might have had Ralph Vaughan Williams arrested as a spy - BUT is this Fact of Fiction???
