Facts: 1- Reducing sick leave does not save taxpayers any money - TopicsExpress

Facts: 1- Reducing sick leave does not save taxpayers any money (whether or not they use sick leave, the same salary is paid and we never pay for someone else to replace that person for a few days). 2- 5.2 billion dollars in unused sick leave is a good thing. It proves that overall public servants arent abusing their benefits and are banking it for a time when they may need it (i.e. Cancer treatment), and in most cases, the manager divides their duties and gives it to multiple workers which again doesnt cost the taxpayers any addition costs. 3- Are there cases where public servants bank there sick leave for apparent stress leave (especially the last few years before retirement) - YES! .... So deal with that issue. Propose changing the policy to exclude applying banked sick leave for stress leave, and instead, they can apply for short or long term benefits. It could be THAT SIMPLE! Im so tired of the Conservative party giving the illusion that they are saving taxpayers dollars when what they are proposing is not going to save one penny!!! The government parties need to stop lying about issues just to get themselves re-elected!
