Failure to understand the nuances between Hezbollah resistance and - TopicsExpress

Failure to understand the nuances between Hezbollah resistance and Islamic militant recruitment continues to overwhelm Western academic analysis of Hezbollah in compassion to the Islamic State. Hezbollah, resistance is national based. It is territorially bound with the boundaries of the nation-state. Resistance is statist. Its discourse of recruitment however Is Twelver Shia discourse of martyrdom to establish the conditions for the re-emergence of the Mehdi, without which there will never be a just state. While, they are recruited by the discourse of the Mehdi, they fight a territorial war of independence. Their argument is futuristic waiting for a divine command of salvation. Islamist recruitment on the other hand is historical. It aims to re-establish an Islamic state under the Caliphate of Quraish. The only tribe that can legitimately govern a global territory of Islam where Quraish is sovereign. Islamic state does not legitimize the territorial state or the nation. The nation must be homogenous. The nation must adhere to the sovereignty of Islam as embodied by Quraish, or face extermination. Consequently, Hezbollahs resistance has the support of the vast number of secular and statists, Shia and Christian. ISIS has the support of Sunnis that believe in the righteousness of Quraish to sovereignty. Quraish is the tribe of Prophet Mohamed, where sovereignty is assumed to have been given to Mohamed. He executed Gods will in his Sunna as narrated in Hadith. Thus, the sovereignty of Mohamed is alive in his descent from Quraish that should be the global sovereign of Islam.
