Our very own downtown “archeological dig” is taking place at the corner of William and Sandusky Streets as piece by piece the old brick exterior of the current Barley Hopsters building, 1 North Sandusky, is being exposed by Larry Vance of Historic Brick and Stone Mortar Restoration of Delaware. Work has proceeded to the south side of building and an old billboard is seeing the light of day for the first time since stucco was applied decades ago. Looks like it might be a “Konjola” sign that is shown in the below photo taken of the same building sometime in the 1950s. Konjola was a 1930s-era product “For When You’re Not Feeling 100%,” the slogan proclaimed. Keep watching the corner to see what else appears.
