Fair day with Ireland - A connection to a different world, the smells, the temporary nature, the people - my kind of people that come from the dirt like Grant Peeples sings... The corner eyed looks of carnies on the honest take - children smiling, cigarettes smoked behind ramshackle fences, the lights coming up as the earth turns away from the lucky old sun - Take your shot sir! The voices - the voices - the voices all join as one sweaty alive hum. I can hear the magic and the belts straining to turn the machines thatll spin you around and around... All aboard Nebraskas our next stop. No promise of permanence - just a temporary handshake of strange entertainment... I love the fair.
