Fair play to Atletico Madrid. They actually use the little money - TopicsExpress

Fair play to Atletico Madrid. They actually use the little money they have and buy the right players to not only balance their squad but to make sure every player bleeds for the cause. Real Madrid seems to be different now. It is incredible, they have a great season doing La Decima and were suppose to build on that but clearly because of the failure of this transfer window, that isnt going to happen. I only blame one man in all of this and that is Florentino Perez. I understand that Real Madrid wouldnt be as big as they are now because of him but it is so obvious that he is more into the financial side than the footballing side. The window was there for Real Madrid to improve the squad, instead they sell off young talents like Morata and Casemiro and then he sells world class players in Di Maria and Xabi Alonso. This isnt the first time Florentino Perez has gone off and ruin the squad, he also done this to the 2002 Champions League winning side, particularly with Claude Makelele. Now first of all, I did know fine and well whom James Rodriguez was well before the World Cup, he was one of the two young players I betted to do well, the other was Xherdan Shaqiri. I do not want him to leave already, nor do I know of any Real Madrid fans wanting the same. He is still a young talent and shouldnt be ridiculed so early on in his Real Madrid career, he needs to find his feet like Luka Modric, Gareth Bale and even Angel Di Maria had to do. If Angel Di Maria could of been kept, I would like to think that Florentino Perez actually tried to, but I am having major doubts that he may of just let him go, brushing him off as not important for the team. The Xabi Alonso sale however was not in his control, he wanted to leave and couldnt do anything about it. But what makes it so infuriating is the lack of effort to re-strengthen the squad. Why sell such important players if you dont even prepare suitable replacements? Toni Kroos didnt come in as a replacement for anybody, he came in as part of the squad. James Rodriguez came in as a replacement for Di Maria however. Bottom line is that this transfer window has gone to shit. I feel sorry for Carlo Ancelotti because he has to face up to it all but it is not in his control. The lack of power given to managers at Real Madrid is horrific and when Florentino Perez is the one buying the players that most times, Real Madrid simply do not need, they suffer from it and it is why they have massive inconsistencies. Carlo Ancelotti would of known who to bring in and who to balance out and who to keep. Real Madrid had a team and it has practically crumbled through one poor transfer window. I hope that a reasonable Real Madrid fan becomes president and is all about the success of the club rather than the finance. #James
