(Fair warning: I was supposed to be getting work done and then instead I found myself having Internet opinions on Facebook then this happened) Lol the fact that this douchy list is one of the articles that had shown up most in my newsfeed shows so much of what is annoying about millenial study-abroad-culture and stuff. The text of the article tries to do a little back pedaling, but clickbait articles are all about the title. When has predictability in travel been a problem for anyone besides spies or Frodo?? Like, what monocle-wearing 23 year old is thinking a selfie in front of the Leaning Tower of Pisa barely garners 50 likes on instagram! Simply pedestrian! No, if only I could have a list of less cliché vacations, then I could truly impress my followers.? The publication is literally called Elite Daily! Im more of a Bourgeois Asshat monthly kinda guy myself but w/e. The preformativity of life, the privilege, the Baudrillard, the potential think-pieces! (Obligatory: yes Im a bourgeois dude who gets to travel more than most, and ya I took some selfies in Europe. My critique of this dumb list still stands.)
