Faith Conference 2013 faith Why the Faith Conference? For us the Jesus Youth, the Jubilee was a time of special grace for everyone in the movement, during the course of which there were numerous occasions to reflect on the call and mission of being a Jesus Youth. The declaration of the Year of Faith has been most eagerly welcomed in the Jesus Youth movement as a God-given opportunity for ‘fostering the graces received during the Jubilee’. As Holy Father Pope Benedict XVI has exhorted, the Year of Faith, will be a good opportunity to usher the whole Church into a time of particular reflection and rediscovery of the faith and to review its efforts at nurturing the faith of the new generation. In this context, the Jesus Youth is initiating a series of regional conferences titled “Faith Conference 2013” across the country, with the central theme “Faith”. The aim of the conference is to enable the participants to know more and to re-discover their faith, help them to live the faith in a meaningful way and guide them on how to profess the faith with renewed conviction and vigor. We will have 12 Faith conferences spread over the year, across all Ecclesial regions and involving thousands of Jesus Youth in India. What happens at the Faith Conference? The Holy Father has exhorted “this Year to arouse in every believer the aspiration to profess the faith in fullness and with renewed conviction, with confidence and hope” (Pope Benedict XVI, Porta Fidei). Through the series of Faith Conferences, all the Jesus Youth in the country will be helped to rediscover its faith with greater clarity and to profess the faith with more conviction and focus. In order to achieve this, the Faith Conference 2013 will mainly focus on the following three areas: 1. Know the faith / Understanding the Faith: The Creed will be the main topic which will be covered in this module and will be divided into three sub modules. 2. Live the Faith / Renewal Of Faith: In this module, we help the participants to understand faith areas which are more related to day to day life. 3. Profess the Faith: In this module we mainly talk about how we should profess by lips and by action. Developing on these three focus areas, the Jesus Youth National Team has prepared a programme outline consisting of 9 modules for the Faith Conferences across India. The above modules will be covered with multiple dynamics like: 1. Preparation Materials 2. Input talks / sessions 3. Exhibitions 4. Group Discussions 5. Experts Panel 6. Q & A Forum 7. Audio Visuals 8. Choice-based Seminars 9. Experience sharing We hope that the Faith Conference 2013 will enable the participants to deepen their faith, understand how to live their faith more in-tune with the teachings of the Catholic Church and practically share their faith in the world we live in. In short, the Faith Conference 2013 aims at enabling the participants to make the best use of the opportunities created by the Year of Faith.
