Faith in humanity confirmed. Tonight I sat at Piattis in U Village eating dinner with Michael, while watching an exhausted looking young woman feed her obviously very sick little girl. Four or five bottles of different meds, baby with a traveling oxygen cannula. It was heart wrenching to watch her celebrate each of the three bites of mashed potatoes she took. When we were ready to pay our bill, I quietly asked the waitress if we could pay the womans tab as well. She told us she and her manager had already spoken and picked up the tab for her. We both had tears in our eyes. She said she was just going to tell her that someone had anonymously paid for her meal. Im teary just writing about it. Thank you, staff of Piattis, for being excellent humans. Feel free to head in there sometime for a meal and thank them again!
