Faith is defined as: 1: Complete trust or confidence in someone or something 2: Strong belief in God or in the doctrines of a religion, based on spiritual apprehension rather than proof. (Oxford dictionary online) Rational faith is the first definition. Religious faith is the latter. Rational faith is a necessary part of gaining knowledge. Rational faith is trust (faith) in things that have, or can, earn trust. Its belief with no evidence, but after having some kind of evidence. We have no 100% sure evidence that the sun will rise tomorrow. But it has happened enough times that we can trust (have faith that it will). The same applies to people. After so long and so many actions, a person shows you that you can trust (have faith in) them. Religious faith, while apparently a natural occurrence, does not help with gaining knowledge. It actually does the opposite. Believing in things with absolutely no evidence leads people to reaching all kinds of illogical conclusions and committing horrible acts due to these conclusions, as well as deny observable facts, which is having a negative impact on all of humanity. Theists claim that they have evidence of their god(s), but thats not actually true. What they really have is evidence of occurrences in their lives, that they interpret to be (because of what they have been taught) evidence of their god. But if their personal experiences count as evidence of their god, then the personal experiences of other theists must also mean their gods are real. You can, at some point, test rational faith. Religious faith remains completely in the realm of belief. #DontMindMeImJustThinking.
