Living springs Weekly Bulletin - 1st January 2015 Dear all, Well, here we are… 1st January 2015; so I wish you a very blessed and peaceful new year. This Sunday we celebrate Epiphany so please do join us for a blend of traditional and creative worship at 6 pm. On Sunday 18th January Shelley (our newest member) will be sharing something of her faith journey in the ‘My Story’ slot. On 25th January we will have a couple of opportunities to worship with other congregations in central Bath - at 10.30 am we will be sharing in a Christian Unity service with Central URC where I will be preaching. At 6 pm on the same day we have been invited to join in worship at St John’s Bathwick. Our Holocaust Memorial Service will be on Sunday 1st February at 6 pm - this will be jointly hosted by ourselves and Central URC and the service will be in the sanctuary on this date. We will be joined by Janine Webber from the Holocaust Education Trust who will share her story as a Holocaust survivor with an opportunity to ask questions afterwards. The church phone number and email address can be found below, and are the same as we have been using for some time now. They are both monitored by members of the Church Council - if you wish to speak to a specific person then they will be contacted and will get back to you as soon as they can. The church phone receives voicemail so please do leave a message if no one answers straight away and we will get back to you. Please remember that there are many opportunities for you to share your gifts whether you attend worship practically every week or once in a while. At the moment we particularly need people to help with putting services onto PowerPoint and/or booklets. We have also started creating a series of role profiles for various tasks. I have included the role profile for our welcoming ministry below - we would really be grateful if you could consider this ministry. I think that’s about it for this week. With love and blessings, Mike, Dorothy, Liz and Sally For reflection: A Blessing as you Journey into the New Year May your mind be opened to the wonder of the daily miracles around you and your sense of mystery be deepened. May you be aware of the light that shines in the darkness, and that the darkness can never put it out. May you be blessed with companions on the journey, friends who will listen to you and encourage you with their presence. May you learn to live with what is unsolved in your heart, daring to face the questions and holding them until, one day, they find their answers. May you find the still, quiet place inside yourself where you can know and experience the peace that passes understanding. May love flow in you and through you to those who need your care. May you continue to dream dreams and to reach out into the future with a deeper understanding of Gods way for you. Amen.
