Faith is making her rounds as she visits with Tommy & Sam and - TopicsExpress

Faith is making her rounds as she visits with Tommy & Sam and hides behind the little squirrel figurines. While Faith was pretty busy, Sarah was taking a much needed rest in her bed this afternoon. Actually, Sarah was resting in Sams bed, but Sam has decided to give it to Sarah. Sam has always been very possessive of his things, such as his bed, food bowls and toys, but since we adopted Sarah, Sam has changed. He gives in to little Sarah and gives her ANYTHING she wants. We have tried to get him to stand up for himself and not give in to her so much, but he just cant help himself. He LOVES her and is like an older big brother who spoils the much younger sibling. He also spoils Faith, but not as bad as he does with Sarah. He is also very protective of his younger siblings, and even has problems with Roger playing with them. He moans and whimpers every time Roger tries to play with Faith in his presence and goes crazy when Roger goes near Sarah. He is much different with mamas dog, Buddy; he allows Buddy to play with both of his babies. Sam has always been unique, and has also been very protective of his babies, but he has ben more on-alert since Grace and the Fly Boys were taken away. He tried so hard to protect Grace from the strangers in his house, but I locked him into another room to make sure no one got hurt. Now I know I should have handled that situation differently, as I was so grief stricken at the time and in shock of what was happening, I never thought of how this was affecting our Sam. Shortly after Grace left, we took Sam to the vet and he was given a shot to help calm him down, as he was a bundle of nerves as he paced the floors and alerted at every little noise. He is now getting back to his regular self, but still a bit more protective of his babies. He visits Grace and the Fly Boys cage each day as he makes his rounds through the house, but now rather than standing and looking, he just sniffs the doorway of their cage as he passes by. I wish I could explain to him what happened, just to help him understand; but in his own way, I think he has a good idea. We are still waiting for news of how Grace and the Fly Boys are doing, and are hoping that they will be allowed to come home again soon. Any information of their whereabouts and how they are doing would be wonderful. We should all keep praying for their safe return, and for the officials who have been working on their case. We should not hold harsh feelings toward others, and Tommy and I hope to have a peaceful resolution to this situation with no hard feelings toward anyone involved. We would like to see this situation behind us and to be able to establish a working relationship with the State folks and be able to help work with them on conservation issues in the future. This is where our focus and attention needs to be, on helping save animals and help educate others on beneficial conservation issues. We are hoping that soon we can redirect our attention in these areas and are allowed a partnership with other people in the state of Alabama as we work toward these goals together. Please remember to be positive. I have had to remind myself of this all day, and find myself getting depressed and begin to question my lifes mission. But after a long day of uncertainty, God has set my mind at ease once again, letting me know I am exactly where HE planned for me to be, and doing the work HE sent me to do. So, with a much clearer mind and lighter heart, I will spend some time snuggling little Sarah, as I also give equal attention to the other babies and enjoy my evening. We hope you are able to do the same and remember to Pay it Forward
