Ok.. so ONE of the keets (baby Guinea Fowl) now has a name... Tinkerbell ( I HOPE its a girl) A couple of weeks ago she got stuck under a blanket we had in the box keeping them warm at night. While she appears to be ok..she is only half the size as the others. I have recently noticed that when I was keeping the keets in an open portable toolbox in the shed at night .. I was finding poop on some of the items around the box. Hmmm odd.. are the other chickens getting in the shed??? I was also noticing that the keets have doubled in size this last week, so I needed to make other arrangements for them... I moved their small day cage .. into the keet house... and within minutes, the little guys were FLYING across their new house!! Each of then chirping and flapping.. going from one end of it to the other... (That explains the poop.. they were getting out of... and returning to their tool box) Back to Tinkerbell.. we had been over at the ranch house.. helping John - Adam unload some things from his trailer...and when we returned .. I heard the desperate chirp of a baby bird in duress.. I ran out to check on them .. and found 11 keets happily perched on top of their day pen.. and little Tinkerbell still on the floor.... cannot fly to the top with the others... peeping her little head off!! So I placed a stick perch from the floor to the top of the day pen.. so she could walk up to be with the others. She is now perched with the others.. and content!
