Eccentric Tip #1 demoed by @gsp_25 WR Michigan Tech. Coaching an athlete to land a jump is essential in learning how to stabilize their legs under increased stress. It also will point out any inabilities of the athlete to stabilize their trunk. Cueing them into a posterior weight shift upon landing helps the athlete land more evenly, which will enable a repeated effort if needed. Additionally, coach the athlete into landing and taking off (when jumping) to have knees in line with feet and hips in order to not create what is called knee valgus (knee drives inward) toward a very vulnerable position for injury. The drill above The Depth Drop can be progressed from a stationary jump without a box, and worked to a box as tall as 24 inches. Try it out see what you think. #Team2SP
